Native Directions has recently submitted revised permit applications for its planned Substance Use Disorder (SUD) facilities in Rescue. It seems Native Directions is now proposing to build multiple unit construction vs. single, larger, buildings, to house it SUD facilities. At this point no one has seen the actual plans, but the permits describe multiple structures per parcel (details on the timeline).
More investigative work needs to happen to determine exactly what these plans entail, but we all need to be aware of this change in tactics.
Today I sent a note to EDC Planning Director Karen Garner detailing our concerns. As a community we need to pay attention, ask questions, and hold our county officials accountable for upholding community safety. As we have an important election coming up to replace our District 4 Supervisor, I encourage you to discuss this with the EDC Supervisor candidates and ensure our concerns are noted.
