Our fight to stop these developments has moved to the court. Native Directions (NDI)/HomeCA have filed a lawsuit against El Dorado County to force them to grant these permits. This move was signaled from their threatening letter on Sept 5 (link-Sept 5 entry) and after the county dug its heels in, NDI/HomeCA sued in El Dorado County Superior Court. Their lawyers filed for immediate relief (granting the permits) and were denied, and it looks like the court wants to hear both sides before moving forward. The court will hear oral arguments on Friday, and we will need to see where it goes from there. If the court rules in favor of NDI/HomeCA, we (RDV) will need to work to take action. We will be looking to raise funds for a legal fight against this horrible, proposed development. Stay tuned as we watch the next step.
