Thank you to everyone who supported our update to the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors on Feb 25th. Our primary goal was to introduce Rescue Deer Valley to the two new Supervisors (Ferrero and Vanderkamp) and reinforce the County’s responsibility to protect our community, especially County Counsel David Livingston. We achieved that goal.
During the open forum session, several community members spoke (under a strict 3 min time limit), emphasizing the County’s legal obligation to prioritize public safety and enforce zoning laws. Residents reinforced some of the numerous reasons why these facilities should not be built in Rescue.

What We Accomplished
Our goal was not to pack the room but to show that we are organized, engaged, and ready to act depending on the status of these projects. We succeeded.
Next Steps
Because public comment is a one-way communication, we did not receive direct feedback from the Board. Over the next few weeks, we will follow up with the new Supervisors to determine where they stand.
Our work isn’t done until:
✔️ El Dorado County denies these building permits
✔️ Developers sell the parcels to single-family buyers
Thank you for staying informed and engaged! We’ll continue to post updates here and on the website.
