Over the last year as this protest evolved, we have all seen the power that our local officials wield. The following paragraph is the opinion of Chris Silva only, but I write it from the perspective of anyone who opposes this development in Rescue, CA. This will be a short political statement only. There is no intent to make this protest political, but unfortunately politics does have an impact on our ability to stop this development.
Chris Silva: If you live in El Dorado Hills, you are voting for Fire Board members. John Hidahl is running for EDH Fire Board. Hidahl’s actions over the last few months on his engagements with HomeCA/Native Directions have demonstrated that he is willing to work behind the scenes to help developers that may not be taking community interests seriously. In our specific example, he was not willing to communicate with Supervisor Parlin on his discussions about this project, which is in her district. He also has been unwilling to provide his own statement of facts discussed in his meetings with HomeCA/Native Directions. This behavior is not appropriate for an elected county offical, in my opinion. I encourage you to consider that as you vote for Fire Board representatives in El Dorado Hills.
