Fundraiser March 1 – reminder that this Friday we will be holding a fundraiser with the Concerned Citizens of Cameron Park, Rescue & Shingle Springs (CCOCP). It will be a spaghetti dinner, and cost is $20/person. All funds will be used for legal fees associated with our battle to get the commercial facilities development stopped off of Deer Valley Road. This will be a great chance to support this cause, as well as meet some of your neighbors, along with some of the members of Rescue Deer Valley. It helps if you RSVP – you can pre-register here (link).
Grading Permit Request In Process – HomeCA (details), the developer based in El Dorado Hills that is building these facilities, applied for a grading permit for 3335 Deer Valley Court on Feb 21st. The developer, Gina Wasdyke, has stated she wanted to break ground in March, and this permit is the first step. There has been excavating activity at the property last week to take “soil samples” and a contractor was walking the property today. Obviously, the developer is not looking for alternative locations, so we must continue to pressure El Dorado County, and the State Dept of Health Care Services (DHCS) to do what is right for the future patients of these facilities, and the surrounding communities that would be impacted. We are still awaiting an official response to Senator Alvarado-Gils letter from DHCS but we don’t hold hope that this will stop the developer from attempting to move forward.
Our near-term focus will be fundraising for our legal defense, while continuing to work with our county and state officials to get these facilities moved to a more appropriate location. Thanks for your continued support!
